An orphan himself, Arun Verma, a struggling music instructor, devotes his life to caring for orphaned children. When work eludes him and funds dry out, he sublets a room in his house to Seema, a hot-tempered journalist aversive to children. As Seema, Arun, and the children strive to live and let live, ruthless international terrorist Mogambo sets his eyes on their house, a perfect storage facility for his criminal paraphernalia. Threatened with eviction by his landlord and Mogambo's henchmen, Arun finds himself privy to an old secret revealed by Professor Sinha, a friend of his father's: a unique invention literally defying human vision that Mogambo has been chasing for years. Empowered by the gadget, Arun becomes Mr. India, a savior of the oppressed, vowing to defeat Mogambo and thwart his plans to destroy and ultimately take over the country.

India's first sci-fi film, and a musical at that, MR. INDIA enjoys a cult following among all ages. Written by the legendary Indian duo Salim-Javed (SHOLAY, DEEWAR) and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Shekhar Kapur (BANDIT QUEEN, ELIZABETH), MR. INDIA storms Hollywood as part of IFFLA's inaugural Bollywood by Night section.
