BELLY FULL OF DREAMS (BOMMALAATA) Director: Prakash Kovelamudi Ramu, a nine year-old, slum-dwelling boy who earns a living as a rag-picker
dreams of attending the local school. He saves up money by hiding it
away in the belly of one of his father's neglected puppets. When the
money disappears along with his father, Ramu must resort to a combination
of ingenuity and tenacity to realize his dream. From the trash that
others have discarded he finds the treasure of books and a school uniform.
A myriad of people use him to further their own selfish cause, without
getting him any closer to his goal. Yet, with fierce determination Ramu
draws inspiration from unlikely sources in order to overcome a system
