Supporting filmmakers

ONE-ON-ONE PROGRAM

One-on-One is IFFLA’s signature industry program, presented since 2004. During the festival, industry professionals from agencies, major, and independent production and distribution companies are invited to participate in one-on-one 15-minute meetings with the participating filmmakers. The objective of this program is to offer a new generation of talented filmmakers connections with players of the North American film industry and provide them with a unique opportunity to advance their careers. In fact, numerous IFFLA alumni have found representation through this program. But most importantly, these one-on-one discussions have started new collaborations that have led to the creation of new content.

IFFLA INDUSTRY DAY

IFFLA Industry Day is a first-of-its-kind:a day-long forum in Los Angeles for rising and established South Asian film and TV creatives, executives, and their audiences. This new event expands IFFLA’s reach by helping connect influential executives and visionary creators to emerging South Asian writers, directors, and producers. In a structured, conference-like experience, IFFLA Industry Dayfosters participation by providing a space to share strategies and processes, while showcasing the breadth and depth of the stories being developed by the Los Angeles community and beyond.

AWARDS

IFFLA’s festival program presents competition lineups for both features and shorts. Films compete for Grand Jury Awards for Best Feature and Best Short, as well as Audience Choice Awards in the same categories.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Opening and Closing Galas, along with the Awards Ceremony on closing night, are red carpet events that bookend the festival followed by receptions celebrating cinema, storytelling, and community. During the festival, IFFLA also presents special events that range from masterclasses and panels that offer Los Angeles audiences the chance to learn from masters of South Asian cinema; to retrospectives of beloved classics; and tributes honoring acclaimed South Asian filmmakers and actors.
