Anusha Rizvi’s The Great Shamsuddin Family is a triumphant return; a witty razor-sharp, tightly written social satire with startling control. Set entirely within one Delhi apartment, unfolding during a day, the film turns domestic chaos into a microcosm of modern India. Rizvi balances humour and heartbreak with masterly precision, crafting a tapestry of generational tension, urban neurosis, and female resilience. Exuberant and lively, it delivers a politically astute portrait of family, faith, sisterhood, and survival in contemporary India.
